Plane makes emergency landing at Fairoaks Airport

A Surrey Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said “Emergency services have been in attendance this morning at Fairoaks Airport, Chobham following a report at 10.40am that a light aircraft was circling with a mechanical fault.

“The aircraft, which only had a pilot on board, carried out a safe emergency landing at 11.48am on grass inside the airport perimeter. The road adjacent to the runway was closed during the landing as a precaution.

“The pilot was a man in his 80s and there were no reported injuries to him or anyone else. Surrey Fire and Rescue Service had three fire engines and three specialist vehicles in attendance at the incident.”
