The news that the government is increasing funding for the River Thames Scheme by £60 million was today welcomed by Surrey County Council Cabinet Member for Flooding Recovery John Furey.
Firefighters were today called to deal with a large fire in an industrial building. Around 100 firefighters tackled the blaze at Renshaw Industrial Estate, Mill Lane, Staines after being called to the fire shortly after midnight.
